1.17 Transfer of Credit from Non-Law School Courses
CUNY School of Law will accept up to 12 credits of graduate-level coursework from an accredited college or university, provided the courses are law-related. Only courses with clear relevance to the study or practice of law will be considered for approval. Students must be in good academic standing and must obtain advance written permission from the Academic Dean prior to enrollment.
Non-law school credits may not be taken on a pass/fail basis. Students must earn a grade of “B” or higher to receive credit. Approved credits will appear on the CUNY Law transcript as “Credit” and will not be calculated into the student’s GPA. These credits will not satisfy any law school required courses and will not count toward the 64 classroom credit hours required by the Court of Appeals.
