This course is designed to teach advanced substantive and procedural doctrine derived from commercial and related law, including contracts and sales, commercial paper, Civil Practice Law and Rules (CPLR), and property. The course materials are arranged to foreground the structure of the hierarchy of rules in each doctrinal area, emphasize the main policy considerations that shape legal intervention, and highlight recent, significant cases (particularly Supreme Court and New York cases).
