Description
This seminar introduces students to the basic concepts and principles of environmental law. We will study the major federal environmental statues, and will examine the roles that state and local governments, as well as non-governmental actors play in environmental protection. Themes such as environmental justice, scientific uncertainty, and globalization will be explored throughout the course. We will examine how activists have attempted to bridge these distinct legal discourses in the context of advocacy and social movements.
